Woohoo, Friday!! This morning has been pretty busy so far. After bringing Paul his breakfast sandwich, Tara and I checked emails and did a little bit of work until it was time to go back up to the SUB to watch an interview for a position at MSU. There are two people interviewing for this job, one already works here and the other does not. We missed the big Q&A session for Dan (the cadidate who already works here), but were glad to see this one for the other candidate. Observing this interview is yet another experience that I will be able to take with me from this internship. Paul talked with us for a few minutes after the session and allowed us to give our feedback as well.
As soon as we got back down to our office, Scott from JEV restaurant supply was here to show us some samples of dishes. This meeting was mostly Tara's gig, but again, it was nice to watch another rep show us product and then have discussion after the meeting to decide the pros and cons of possibly choosing this product. Hopefully we can make some solid decisions on dishes soon so that we can get them ordered and delivered on time. Paul said that it is unlikely that Tara and I will get to see the dishes arrive at MSU :(
Since Scott left, Tara has been doing some more work with the dishes and I have been researching a plastic vessel to serve our western ice cream sundaes in. The NACUFS disscussion list has been a big help to me in this process. I got a phone call response shortly after I posted my question which was unexpected and appreciated. It is little things like that phone call that I am taking note of and am planning to continue to use in my professional life.
I'm looking foward to a relaxing weekend! Tara is going home for a wedding, so I am going to spend some time exploring Bozeman on foot tonight. Saturday, I am going hiking with Paul and his family in Yellowstone (be on the lookout for pictures!). Then, on Sunday, I'm going to sleep in as much as possible and take the day to relax and probably walk around Bozeman some more. I am so excited to get this chance to explore Bozeman on my own. Working all week long has made it hard to really see where I am living and what is around me.
That's all for now!
